Why earn a Special Education (LBS 1) Endorsement?
The field of Special Education needs additional educators throughout the nation. A Special Education Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS 1) Endorsement at the graduate level will allow practicing teachers, with a current Illinois professional teaching license, to teach in the field of Special Education and will prepare them to use a variety of theoretical and evidence-based practices to help students with disabilities to reach their full potential.
Aurora University's Special Education Endorsement LBS 1 graduate program will provide you with a strong knowledge base to effectively work with students who exhibit a wide range of disabilities. You will complete a comprehensive curriculum, learn to evaluate current research, and conduct your own research in the classroom. You will benefit from varied experiences that allow you to apply the theory you learn to real-world situations in your school district.
This program is designed for teachers who hold a current Illinois teaching license and wish to earn an endorsement in special education. A student teaching or internship experience is not required.
The program is available in a variety of formats, including fully remote courses, at district cohort sites, and through AU Online.
